ANM stands for Auxiliary Nursing Midwife it is a 2 year diploma course which focuses on both theoretical learning and practical training.

The ANM course curriculum is designed to train students and equip them to work as a basic healthcare workers. ANM graduates focus on providing care for children, women, and the elderly.

The candidates are also taught about how to take care of equipment, setting up of Operation Theater, provide timely medication to the patient and maintaining the records.

Eligibility Criteria

How can i become a certified ANM/GNM pursue Nurse? Check eligibility criteria for both ANM & GNM courses:

Eligibility for ANM Course

ANM is a two year duration course with the eligibility of 10+2 (Any stream).

Students must have secured at least 40-50% marks in the qualifying examination.

The minimum age requirement is 17 years. Only female students can apply for this course. Students age should not exceed more than 35 years.

Eligibility for GNM Course

GNM is a three years diploma course with the eligibility of 10+2 passed with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.

The minimum age limit is minimum 17 years and maximum 30 years. This course is open for both male and female students.

    1. No, It is not possible to take admission in GNM course after completing 1st year. Candidates have to complete ANM first and then enroll in the course.
