UP Textile Technology Institute is government aided and co-educational institute was established in the year 1914 with a name of government Central Textile institute which was renamed as present name in the year 1937 by merge of two premier textile institute, one at Kanpur and other at Roorkee. College is affiliated to Gautam Budh Technical University, Lucknow. College has been approved by AICTE, New Delhi and recognized by Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education and State Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Campus:

UP Textile Technology Institute is situated in Souterganj at Parvati Bagla road in Kanpur district of UP. The campus is 6 km away from the Kanpur Central Railway Station and 80 km away from the Amausi Airport. The campus spread over in 19.6 acres of land.
