University of Lucknow is the Public University established in the year 1921. The University of Lucknow is also called as Lucknow University (LU). Being one of the oldest Universities, it imparts the professional education in various fields that include management, law, etc. It has the affiliation from University Grants Commission (UGC), Distance Education Council (DEC), Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Association of Common Wealth Universities (ACU). Besides this, it is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bar Council of India (BCI) and National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE).

Campus

Lucknow University has its glorious campus on Sitapur road. The University campus is spread over 75 acres of land. It is situated near the Institute of Engineering and Technology and is fully-equipped with all the necessary facilities.

Facilities

Lucknow University offers the residential facilities to staff members, teachers, non-teaching members and students. There are total 13 hostels in the campus. The hostel facility is for both girls and boys. The University also houses the centre for cultural activities. The students of the University are also facilitated with the military training followed by National Cadet Corps (NCC) wings. In addition to this, it has central library that is completely online and accommodates a large collection of books. The central library of LU is famous with the name Tagore Library. Tagore library is one of the wealthy library of the country.

Programmes

University of Lucknow has a separate department known as Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) for management programmes and a separate department of law for law courses. IMS offers the undergraduate and postgraduate level management courses. It offers MBA in the following specializations:

Placement

The University provides the summer placement/final placement by inviting several reputed companies to its campus. It has a placement team followed by faculty members. The companies that are visited the campus are ICICI Securities, Sahara Group, Idea, IndusInd Bank, ITC, Axis, etc.
