University Institute of Information Technology, (UIIT) Shimla is a leading self financed government institute of north India. The UIIT was established in the year 2000 and started functioning under the Executive Council of HPU. The UIIT is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University (HPU). The main objective of the institute is to provide quality technical education to the deserving youth of the region and the country.

Campus:

The college is located at the Himachal Pradesh University campus (HPU Summer hill) in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. The institute is located in a serene and a pollution free environment comprising of all major facilities.

Programmes:

The UIIT is well known for its B.tech programs in Information Technology and hence offering four year degree courses in two engineering discipline i.e. CSE and IT. The institute has a good collaboration with the IT industry and also conducts workshops and seminars on the trending topics of computers and information technology.

Facilities:

The institute offers sufficient facilities to the students having spacious and ventilated classrooms, well equipped labs and workshops, fully featured computer centre with well equipped hardware and software. The college has well stocked library having good collection of books and journals, and a subscription to latest magazines and newspapers. The college also provides sports facility, canteen facility and health facilities.

Placement:

The UIIT has a good collaboration with the IT industry since the institute is offering courses in CSE and IT. The college conducts seminars, workshops with the IT professional to train the students about the latest trends and scenario of the IT industry. Many students of UIIT have already been placed in renowned companies like IBM, Oracle, Adobe etc.
