University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Raichur
University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Raichur is a new public university dedicated to the study and research of agricultural sciences established by the government of Karnataka in year 2009 at Raichur district through the University of Agricultural Sciences Act 2009. The university is approved by ICAR (Indian Council of Agriculture & Research), New Delhi.
Campus
The University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Raichur comprises of four other agriculture colleges and 12 agricultural research stations. There are 5 Krishi Vigyan Kendra which comes under this university. The university constitutes agriculture science museum and organic farming research institutions. The university has received the best Krishi Vigyan Kendra National Award for the year 2007-2008, thus completing all the necessities of Teaching & Research.
Facilities
The amenities provided by the university are well-equipped and established. There is separate hostel facility for boys and girls. The central library of the university has all necessary text books, reference books and journals, etc. The computer labs are spacious and well-equipped with all modern amenities. There are other facilities in the university are health centre, SBI bank, canteen, consumer store, gymnasium, student’s grievances cell, etc.
Programmes
The Agriculture College at Raichur was started in 1984 with an intake capacity of 30 students per year with its functioning in the premises of Regional Agricultural. The intake capacity has been increased to 70 students at undergraduate level. The Post-graduate programme leading to Masters Degree in six departments was started in 1995 and two departments in 2008. The degree courses offered by the university are:

- Ph.D agriculture
Placement
The way of approaching the companies of this university is very good. It does all efforts to place their students in top industries. The placement cell at the university supports students in making the right career. It also tries to employ the students in most reputed companies. It arranges the job fairs, campus placement and invites the companies for recruitment.
