Tirhut College of Agriculture is government co-educational college was established in the year 1960 by the first Chief Minister of Bihar Late Dr. SriKrishna Singh with an objective to provide and transform the knowledge of farming and harvesting to the society and develop our country, and to produce an excellent level of technocrats through this agricultural education. College is affiliated to Rajendra Agricultural University. College is recognized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Bihar. College is approved by AICTE- All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi, Govt. of India and ICAR- Indian Council of Agricultural research, New Delhi.

Tirhut College of Agriculture has an objective to provide agricultural education to young men and women so that they can tackle the problems of agriculture by using the knowledge and technologies. The students are trained in modern methods of crop improvement, production and protection technologies. The students are encouraged to participate in different curricular activities. The final year students are sent to farmer’s field under Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) programme for six months.

Tirhut College of Agriculture is situated in Dholi town on Muzaffarpur – Pusa road 25 km from Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. College is well-connected by roads and railway network from all major nearby cities of the state. It has a state of art infrastructure, amenities and all necessary facilities as per AICTE norms.

Tirhut College of Agriculture offers a four year B.Sc degree course in agriculture with the intake capacity of 50 students. Out of 50, 8 seats are reserved for the candidates qualify through the entrance examination conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. The admission is through an entrance exam.
