Sri Ventakeswara College of Engineering has been established in the year 1985 as a private and self-financing college by Sri Venkateswara Educational and Health Trust. The college is affiliated to the Anna University and approved by the AICTE. The campus is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution.

The campus is located in the Suburb of Chennai. The college is situated in the Pennalur in Taluk Sriperumbudur in Chennai. The campus is spread over in 95 acres of land. The college is connected by the local transport.

The campus has around 3500 students pursuing their studies as 3200 in UG courses and 300 in PG courses. The campus has more than 250 faculty members and 210 admin staff from all departments.
