Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (SMVIT) is a private and self-financed institute of engineering which was established in the year 1986 founded by the founded by Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust. The college is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University and approved by the AICTE. The college is accredited by the NBA and certified by ISO 9001:2008.

Campus

The SMVIT campus is located over 133 acres of land near Air force station On National Highway – 7 on Bellary Road at Yelahaka in North Bangalore, The city and capital of Karnataka state. The campus is just 21 km away from Airport. The campus is connected by road rail and air network.
