PU Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre, Punjab University, Hoshiarpur

PU Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre was established in the year of 2006 with engineering courses. In the year 2007, it has also started two new courses in law field. This centre is affiliated with Punjab University and approved by BCI (Bar Council of India).

Campus

This centre has a sprawling campus located in Hoshiarpur district of the Punjab state. The campus has a modern infrastructure with comprises of administrative block and students block. The campus is well-connected with the transportation facility.

Facilities

This centre has a library which is equipped with the study materials for engineering, MCA and law students. There is also a separate reading area is provided. The library comprises a good collection of books, reports, journals, etc. The classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated and equipped with comfortable seating arrangements. It houses an auditorium with the seating capacity of 350-400 students to organize various activities such as guest lecture, seminars, cultural activities and other events. The campus has a dispensary with latest equipments and there is also an ambulance for any kind of medical emergencies.

Programmes

This centre has a branch UILS (University Institute of Legal Studies) which offers two law courses like B.A LL.B and LL.B. course. The B.A LL.B is a five-year integrated course with the intake capacity of 69 students. It also offers a three-year LL.B (Bachelor of Law) course with admission to 64 seats.

  • B.Com. LL.B (Hons.) – (Integrated Five Year Course)
  • BA.LL.B (Hons.) – (Integrated Five Year Course)
  • LLB (Bachelor of Law) – Three year course

Admission

The Punjab University organizes its own entrance test for admission in 1st year of BA/B.Com. LL.B (Hons.) courses. A merit list will be prepared according to the marks obtained by the students in the qualifying examination and entrance test. 50% weightage will be given to entrance test and other 50% given for the qualifying exam.
