Pt. Khushilal Sharma Government Ayurveda College & Institute, Bhopal was opened in the year 1995 by the government of Madhya Pradesh. The name of the institution is given on the name of the late Pt.Khushilal Sharma. The institution has the recognition from Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and is affiliated to the Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
Campus
Pt. Khushilal Sharma Government Ayurveda College & Institute is located in the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The campus is located in the Chuna Bhatti region. The college has a good infrastructure in its own 50 acres of premises. Bhopal city is well-connected by roads,airs and rails.
Facilities
The institute has comprehensive facilities for teaching and also provides the excellent housing facility for both girls and boys. The college has two hostels situated few kilometers far from the college. The sport department of the college provides physical training programmes to students and also conducts games and sports in the college. The central library of the college has a good collection of text books, reference books on Ayurveda and modern medicine. The library is fully computerized and also houses audio-visual CDs of ayurveda. The college also has museum and herbal garden situated in 5 acres of land. The garden has approximately 565 herbal plants.
Programmes
The institution runs undergraduate programme in Ayurved. It offers Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) with seat capacity of 50. The duration of this course is 41/2 years plus one year rotatory internship. The college provides admission to BAMS through the entrance test called as PAHUT organized by Professional Examination Board, Bhopal.
