Podar Ayurved Medical College, Mumbai
Podar Ayurved Medical College, Mumbai was started its first batch in 1941. It is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Heath Sciences (MUHS), Nashik and approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM). It has an attached hospital namely M.A.Podar Ayurvedic hospital which was used as a teaching center for the students.
Campus
The campus of Podar Ayurved Medical College, Mumbai is stretched over an area of 6 acres. The campus is situated in the pleasant and greenery surrounding that creates the comfortable environment for academic pursuits. The campus is located in Worli area, Mumbai of Maharashtra state. The campus consisting of college building, hospital, library building and hostel block.
Facilities
The college has well-infrastructural facilities that include library consisting of well-stocked books related to ayurveda, also accommodates national and international periodicals and newspapers. In addition to this, the library has unique serene reading hall with good lighting & ventilation. The college has well-maintained herbal garden spreading in 6000 sq.ft. It has the collection of various kinds of herbs and shrubs. The college has ayurvedic hospital that provides 24 hours healthcare facilities. The accommodation facility is also available for boys, girls and hospital staff.
Programmes
The college offers MUHS affiliated graduate programme in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). The total duration of this course is five and a half-year including internship/training. Total 60 seats are available for this course. It also offers postgraduate courses in MD (Ayurveda). It has an annual intake of 25 students and the duration of this course is of 3 years.
