North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Meghalaya

The North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) was founded in the year of 1973 by an Act of the Indian Parliament. It is a central university that is approved by UGC (University Grants Commission). The university has 44 academic departments and two centers of study under eight schools.

Campus

The university campus is spread over 1025 acres of land. It is located in Umshing Mawkynroh, Shillong, Meghalaya. There is a vast garden facility for the student’s concentration on studies.

Facilities

There facilities provided by the university are: computer center, health center, transportation, internet facility, and guest house. The university also provides National Service Scheme (NSS) facility and modern research facilities. There is also a separate hostel for men’s and women. In a hostel and campus, there is a mess facility. The university has a central library with a set of around 230,000 books, 38,000 bound periodicals and 366 Indian and 316 foreign journals.

The NEHU offers various programmes in the field of Engineering and Technology. It provides 4 undergraduates (UG), 3 postgraduate (PG) and 3 Ph.D courses.

Placement

The university has an active training and placement cell. The T & P Cell organizes the training classes for students such as a specific aptitude class, personality development and most modern advances to target the dream companies.
