National Institute of Technology, Raipur

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur is a central government-funded autonomous institution. It has been established in the year 1956 as a Government College of Mining and Metallurgy. It has been started with two engineering disciplines as Mining and Metallurgy. The institute has been awarded as the status of Institute of National Importance.

Campus

The institute is one of the 30 NITs in India. The campus is located on NH – 6 (Green Eastern Road) in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh. The campus is 5 km away from the Raipur Railway station and 14 km away from the Raipur Airport. The campus was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.
