Nalanda Medical College & Hospital, Patna

Nalanda Medical College & Hospital (NMCH), Patna is the private medical college started in the year 1970 by Dr. Vijay Narayain Singh,(MS. F.R.C.S) Dr. Madhusudan Das (MR Ch), Dr. Shailendra Kumar Sinha ,(MS. F.R.C.S) and Shri Krishna Kant Singh, the ex-education minister of Bihar. The institution is affiliated to the Aryabhatta Knowledge University and recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

Campus

The campus of Nalanda Medical College & Hospital is situated on Kankarbagh old Bye pass road, Patna which is the capital city of Bihar state. The college comprising the departments of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry , Microbiology , PSM ,FMT & Pharmacology. The constituent hospital of the college is situated in the land area of 100 acres at Agamkuan. The hospital is easily accessible by all means of communication.

Facilities

The college has total 3 hostels, 2 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls. The hostels are provided with all the necessary facility with mess and all the hostels are fully secured. The laboratory of the college is well-stacked by the latest instruments and equipments. The air-conditioned library of the college is situated in the administrative block and houses large number of medical books and journals. It has a hospital that provides medical treatment and also works as a teaching hospital for students. Besides these, it also accommodates air-conditioned and spacious lecture theater with multimedia projector facility.

Programmes

The institution offers undergraduate courses in medicine and postgraduate courses in all the major disciplines including medicine, surgery, gynaecology, dermatology, etc. NMCH also runs paramedical courses. The admission to these courses will be done through the competitive Exam known as BCECE conducted by government of Bihar and some of the seats will be filled through AIPMT. The institution admits 100 students per year for MBBS course.
