Midnapore Law College, Midnapore

Midnapore Law College, Midnapore was formed in the year of 2002 by the Midnapore College under the stewardship of Sri Mukul Ranjan Ray (Principal 1982 to 2001). The law courses are approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. It is affiliated to the Vidyasagar University, Midnapur.

Campus

The college is situated at Jharnadanga, Rangamati, Paschin Midnapore District, West Bengal. The college campus is located around 2.2 km away from Midnapore Railway Station. The campus is spread over almost 20 acres of land.

Facilities

The college has a well-equipped library with a large number of books, law journals, magazines, periodicals, projects, reports, etc. The college also offers various facilities like as computer labs, internet, canteen, sports, seminar hall, conference hall, medical care center, etc. There is well-maintained moot court room to impart student’s communication & advocacy skills & prepare themselves for the live performance. The classrooms are well-established with the facility of LCD Projector.

Programmes

Midnapore Law College, Midnapore offers three years or five years integrated undergraduate degrees, i.e. Bachelor of Law (LLB) & five years Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Law (BA LLB (Hons.)).

Admission

The minimum qualification for BA LLB (Hons.) course is Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. The age limit should be 20 years (22 years for SC/ST students). If a student wants to get admission into LLB programme, they have to pass their graduation degree (10+2+3 pattern) Examination.  Student age should be 30 years. Students have to obtain at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination. The admission into LLB & BA LLB (Hons.) programme will be based on the entrance exam conducted by the college.
