Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hubli
Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hubli was established in August, 1957. The former name of the college is Karnataka Medical College, Hubli. It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore and recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi. The institution has the affiliation with many hospitals which are used as the teaching hospitals for the college.
Campus
The campus of KIMS is situated in Hubli, the second largest city in Karnataka. The college infrastructure covers the land area of around 100 acres. It is located on Pune-Bangalore National Highway close to Vidyanagar, Hubli.
Facilities
The entire campus has access to high speed internet through WiFi. The college provides hostel facilities in a very safe environment. It accommodates both girls and boys separately. The digital library of the college has Broad band internet Connection and has a good collection of e-resources. There is a separate study hall that provides the serene ambience for reading books. The laboratories of various departments equipped with latest instruments is also provided for conducting practical learning. It has a spacious lecture halls equipped with modern learning aids.
Programmes
The college offers various courses in medical field. It offers UG, PG, paramedical and nursing courses. The Degree Course of MBBS shall comprise a course of study read over a period of 4 ½ year and compulsory Internship of one year duration after passing the final degree examinations.
