Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak
The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU), Amarkantak was started in the year of 2008 by an Act of the Parliament of India that is Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Act, 2007. It is central university that got approval from University Grants Commission (UGC). The University has a one regional campus in Manipur.
Campus
The IGNTU campus is located at Lalpur that is 20 km. away from Amarkantak. The campus is spread over an area of 400 acres of land that is placed on the top of hills. The University is well-connected with the road, air and rail. The nearest airport is situated at a Jabalpur in a distance of 220 KM from Amarkantak.
Facilities
The University has a well-stocked library that used the Libsys7 Software for automation. The Library comprises of books, newspapers, magazines, periodicals and National and International Journals. There is a medical cell, language lab, Bank and ATM, staff quarter, bus service, cafeteria and guest room. The university has a separate hostel amenities for Boys and Girls. There is also a well-established computer center that is connected to high speed Internet with 20 Computers and 1 Video Conferencing Room. The University also offers 24 hours internet facilities.
Programmes
The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University offers undergraduate and postgraduate course in various fields. It provides two year Master of Business Administration (MBA) and three years Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
Placement
The IGNTU Training and Placement cell offers suitable placement in reputed government organization, NGO’s, multinationals and the private sector. The Placement cell act as an interface between the students and industry and primarily enable the students to select the best available for their profession. The T & P cell organizes workshops and seminars, pre-placement talks, group discussion and personal Interviews to develop the student interpersonal skill and personality.
