Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, (ISM) Dhanbad, is one of the renowned educational institute in the country. The college was established in the year 1926 by British India Government and was formerly opened on 9 December 1926 by Lord Irwin. The college has 18 academic departments and offering education in the fields of Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities, Management, Social Sciences, and Earth Sciences. The ISM Dhanbad is financially and administratively managed by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India.
Campus:
The ISM Dhanbad is located in the coal capital of India i.e. Dhanbad city. The college campus is spread in an area of 212 acres surrounded by various offices relating to mining and research work. The college is situated at a distance 3 km from Dhanbad railway station, the Dhanbad city is also connected with Kolkata by National Highway-2.
