Indian Institute of Technology Madras Chennai

The IIT established in 1959 by the technical and financial assistance from the government of West Germany. It was the third Indian institute of technology that was established through the Act of parliament. It is recognized as an institute of national importance in 1961. It is an autonomous institution approved by the AICTE. IIT, Madras is famous for delivering engineering and management studies.

Campus

IIT madras is located at sardar patel road in Chennai. Campus is opposite of Anna university and central leather institute. The main campus is spreading over 250 hectare between Chennai airport and railway station. Most of the area of campus is a protected forest of Guindy National Park

Courses

IIT madras offers 10 undergraduate courses, 11 dual degree courses, 23 postgraduate courses, 12 MS courses and 16 research degree programmes in the field of engineering, science, humanities and management. Read More >>

Facilities

Institute has its own research teaching centre and industrial consultancy. Around 100 technical labs facility is provided for various program of engineering with new technique of live practical. beside these, the campus has a number of academic and campus facilities for the students.

Activities

The campus has established a students’ grievance cell, welfare cell, clubs and anti drug cell. The college organizes various co-curricular and extracurricular activities including sports, technical, cultural and seminars.
