The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) is a first leading institute which is dedicated to research and education in the fundamental sciences. The Institution is set up in the year of 2006. The IISER is an autonomous institution which is approved by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

Campus

The campus of IISER is spread on a 98- section of land area. The campus has 37,000 sq. mt of educational space and 80,000 sq. mt of inhabited space. The Institution campus has a green surrounding environment which helps the students to focus on their studies. On the campus, various sports facilities are available. There is a special resting area for women, which are available on the third floor of the main academic block.

Facilities

The IISER provides the facility of classroom, research centers (well-equipped instruments and machines), and computing facilities. There is a library facility with a collection of lots of books and journals. The Institution has lectured hall, mini conference center and guest houses, and dining hall complex. There is also a hostel facility for students and staff. The IISER also gives the best canteen and mess facility. In the institution, there is a fitness center, music & cultural program, medical facility are available.

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) provides Master programmes (Bsc and Msc) in various disciplines. The Institution also offers Doctoral programs (Ph.D) and Integrated Doctoral Program (Int. Ph.D.).

Placement

The IISER has its own Training and Placement cell which is extremely active. The T & P Cell serves as an interface between the institute’s students and companies. The main aim of the cell is to provide full-time employment and placement opportunities to all the students. The Placement cell organizes the workshops, seminars, skill development classes and industrial visits for the students.
