Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing is a government and co-educational institute was established in the year 2007 by MHRD- Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It was declared as a first IIIT institute of national importance by MHRD. In initial stage of academic session it was known as institute of technology Madras, by moved in the location of campus it renamed with IITD&M. College is an autonomous individual institute under government of India. All programs have been approved by AICTE.

Campus:

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing is situated at Melakottaiyur, off Vandalur – Keelambakkam Road, midway between Tagore engineering college and VIT Chennai campus. Kandigai is the nearest bus station 10 km away from Tambaram railway station. Airport of Tambaram is also near to the campus, thus becoming the easy accessible by road, rail and air from any major part of country. College located in over 51 acres of wide area.

The campus has around 55 faculty members, 400 students including research scholar and 35 non-technical and administrative staff.

The campus has engineering labs, science labs, research labs, workshop, library, spacious seminar hall & auditorium, sports field, canteen and cafeteria. The campus provides the separated hostel facility for boys and girls and transportation facility.

Activities:

The college organizes cultural, social, sports, athletics and technical activities and programmes. College various co-curricular activities managed by the clubs established by the college.
