All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna is the premier medical college offering medical education and training. It is the autonomous institution and was set up on 16 July, 2012. The medical courses run under the guidelines of Medical Council of India (MCI). The foundation of the college was laid down under the ownership of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Campus

The campus of the college is located at Phulwari Sharif near the Walmi Institute of Patna in Bihar state. It has an extensive campus spread over the area of 134 acres of land. The campus comprising the medical college that has been constructed over 100 acres and residential campus on 34 acres.

Facilities

The state-of-the-art facilities are offered by the college for comfortable learning. The campus houses residential block for students, spacious lecture halls, well-stocked library, fooding facility in mess, cafeteria, canteen, computer facility and conference hall for meetings. It has a hospital well-facilitated with various latest health care amenities. The hospital caters many patients a day and 24×7 emergency services are also there in the hospital. Besides this, it has a research cell in the campus.

Programmes

The institution offers the undergraduate courses in the field of medicine. It runs fully residential four and a half-year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme. The MBBS course is followed by 1 year mandatory training/internship. The degree will be awarded on the successful completion of course and training. The college admits the students through their own entrance test known as AIIMS, New Delhi.
