Govt Dental College and Hospital, Nagpur was established in the year of 1968. It is recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The college is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.
Campus
The campus is situated on the Nagpur that is the second capital of Maharashtra. The college campus is spread over 196 acres of land. The college building is constructed over 70266.50 sq.ft of area. It has a magnificent building to accommodate administrative office, staff rooms, students block, separate departments, etc. The college is attached to the hospital that has 1401 beds.
Facilities
The laboratories are well-equipped with modern equipment and materials. The college has well-stocked central library with provision of separate reading room to accommodate over 120 students. The library has a huge collection of books, national and international journals, newspapers, etc. Other facilities that are offered by the college are classrooms, canteen, auditoriums, conference halls, examination hall and recreation centers. There is a well-furnished residential accommodation for both; girls and boys separately with mess facility. Each department of the college has a dedicated team of faculty members who educate the students by arranging projects, academic lectures, workshops and hands on training.
Programmes
Govt Dental College and Hospital, Nagpur imparts 5 years Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS). The time duration of the BDS programme is 4 years + 1 year internship. There are 50 seats available for this programme. The college also offers 3 years Master in Dental Surgery (MDS). 50 seats also available for the MDS programme.
