Govt. Ashtang Ayurved College and Hospital, Indore

Govt. Ashtang Ayurved College and Hospital, Indore is the well-known institution for excellence in ayurved education. Previously, the institution is affiliated to the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore (M.P.) but in 1972 the institution has been taken by the government of Madhya Pradesh and in 1988 it got the status of autonomous from the state government. All the courses offered by the college are approved by the central council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.

Campus

Govt. Ashtang Ayurved College and Hospital, Indore is located at Lokmanya Nagar, Kesharbagh Road, Indore of Madhya Pradesh. The infrastructure of the college is situated just 5 Km far from the Indore railway station and bus stand. The campus consisting of administrative building, hospital building, academic and departmental block.

Facilities

The institution offers a lot a facility for the comfortable academic pursuits of the students. The college has the well-maintained exclusive library that holds 8000 text books of Ayurveda, magazines and journals of different fields. The college provides in-house residential facility for girls along with proper security facility. There are three associated hospital of the college providing modern medical facilities to the poor people. The college houses the herbal garden spreading to one acre of land. The garden has around 350 Plants of Ayurvedic Herbs. The state-of-the-art classrooms are spacious and create the perfect ambience for learning and growth.

Programmes

Currently, the college is running CCIM recognized Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and surgery (BAMS) programme of four and a half-year followed by one year of rotating internship/training. The minimum qualification eligibility required for admission to this course is Higher Secondary Education with biology. Interested candidates have to qualify the joint entrance test called Pre Ayurveda, Homeopathic and Unani Test (PAHUT). The number of seats available for BAMS is 40.
