Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar

Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPU) has been established in the year 1960 as the result of an Indo – American contract for the agricultural education. The university was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. It has status to be a State University.

Campus:

The GBPU campus is situated in the Tehsil Pant Nagar in District Udham Singh Nagar in State Uttarakhand. It is 250 km away from the Capital of India (Delhi), and 65 km from the Nainital. The campus is well-connected by the roads and rail.

Programmes:

The GBPU (Agriculture & Technology) is conducting the B.Tech degree courses in eight disciplines and M.Tech courses in 15 specializations in the field of engineering and technology. The campus provides the facilities for PhD programmes in 9 engineering streams. Read More>>

The GBPU offers more than 490 seats as the annual intake in all engineering programmes guided by the 89 faculty members out of which 52 are the PhD holders.

Facilities:

The campus comprises in guest houses, separate departments, hostels, residences, farm land and research stations. The campus has 22 hostels having the capacity of 3000 beds. The university campus has cafeteria, library, medical care & ambulance, shopping centre, residential quarters, welfare centres and sports facilities.

Activities:

The campus has 10 hobby clubs, 9 professional societies and 4 activity clubs which organize the cultural, literary, films, social and NCC activities at the university level and college wise.

Placement:
