Government Sivagangai Medical College and Hospital (GSMCH), Sivaganga was started on 1 March, 2012. The college is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. It follows the course curriculum as prescribed by the Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi. The hospital attached to this Medical College is used for the training of students studying in this Medical College.

Campus

The college is situated in Vaniyangudi village, Manamadurai road that is 4 km away from the main town. The institution covers the land area of around 30 acres . The campus is located in Sivagangai of Tamil Nadu state. It has a advanced infrastructure consisting of separate administrative block and academic block.

Programmes

Government Sivagangai Medical College and Hospital (GSMCH), Sivaganga provides the medical education and offers degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). This course consists of 4 and a half year academic education followed by one of compulsory rotating residential internship. The degree of MBBS shall not be conferred unless the candidate has worked as intern for the prescribed duration. The institution has an annual intake of 100 students for MBBS course.
