Government Engineering College, Surat
Government Engineering College, Surat (GEC, Surat) is a government institution administered by the State Directorate of Technical Education. The GEC, Surat was established in the year 2004 by the state government of Gujarat. The GEC, Surat is affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University and approved by the AICTE and MHRD and state government of Gujarat.
Campus:
The GEC, Surat is situated in the campus of Dr. S & S. S. Ghandhy College of Engineering & Technology, sited on the Ring Road opposite RTO at Majura Gate in Surat, the district of Gujarat. The GEC campus is 6 km from the Surat Railway Station and 12 km from the Surat Airport. The institution has a carpet area over 2.6 acres of land.
Students, Faculty & Staff:
The college offers the admission over 336 seats as the annual intake capacity of the all programmes. The GEC has 56 faculty members and 12 non-teaching staff from all departments.
Facilities:
The GEC campus provides the sound amenities like gymnasium, auditorium and seminar hall. The campus comprises with administrative block, academic block, library, workshop, laboratories, canteen, and sports area. The campus provides the facility of transportation.
Activities:
The GEC organizes the Dhvaj Vandan programme, Orientation programme, Sapt Dhara programme and Karm Yogi training programme for the students in various aspects of co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
