Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai came into existence in the year of 1938.The college is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik. It is recognized by Dental Council of India (DCI).
Campus
The campus is presently housed at Government Colony, Bandra, Mumbai. The college is well-linked with the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station. St George Hospital is attached to the college. The college has a modern infrastructure with the separate academic and student’s blocks.
Facilities
The college has different hostels for both; boys and girls with all the necessary facilities. The auditorium of the college has a seating capacity of 450 people with fully automated advanced audio systems. There are various facilities offered by the college are gym, guest rooms, canteen, indoor and outdoor sports, lecture theaters, medical and transport. The central library is well-ventilated with national and international journals, books, textbooks, newspapers, reports, etc. The classrooms are well-established with the audio-visual aids and LCD Projectors.
Programmes
Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai offers 5 years Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). The college also offers Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). The college offers an intake capacity of 100 students for BDS programme and 50 students for the MDS programme as recognized by Dental Council of India. Candidates should have to qualify the 10+2 with science stream from any other recognized university to get admission in BDS course.
