D.Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur

D.Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur was started by the D. Y. Patil Education Society in the year of 1989. The college is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. It is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi.

Campus

The campus is situated in Kasaba Bawada, Kolhapur. Kolhapur is a city of Maharashtra that is located in Panchganga River Basin. The city is well-connected with the railway, road and air transport. The college has a sprawling campus that is spread over 5.5 acres of land. The college building is constructed in 11172.0 sq. ft of land.

Facilities

The college offers the various facilities such as well-ventilated classrooms, medical, gym, auditorium, canteen, seminar halls, administrative block, etc. The laboratories are well- equipped with the sophisticated and latest equipment’s. The library has separate reading rooms with a sitting capacity of 200 students. It has a well-stocked collection of national and international journals, textbooks, reference books, magazines and newspapers. There is also a separate hostel for boys and girls.

Programmes

D.Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur offers Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The college offers 150 seats for the MBBS course. It also provides Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Science (MS). There are 51 seats available for PG programmes. To get admission in MBBS programme, candidates have to qualify the competitive entrance examination in Maharashtra.
