Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar
Central Institute of Technology (CIT) was established on 19th December 2006. The institute is an autonomous body and approved by the UGC. The institute started functioning in 2006 for the diploma courses but the first degree course was started in the year 2009. It is a central funded institution under the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India.
Campus
The campus of the CIT is situated in the Kokrajhar district of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) of Assam. The campus is located in a vast land area surrounded by hills and valleys.
Facilities
The campus is equipped with various academic and campus facilities. The major facilities are well-stocked library, separated hostel facility for boys and girls, well-equipped departmental laboratories, transport facility, workshop, medical facility, canteen, internet facility, sports & recreation facility, seminar hall and auditorium.

The campus offers diploma programme, B.Tech regular programme and B.Tech lateral entry programmes in various disciplines of engineering and technology. The most sought engineering disciplines are as the following:

Placement
The Central Institute of Technology (CIT) has a well-established training and placement cell. The cell organized various job booster programmes as well as skill oriented programmes for the students. The cell conducts the industrial visits, summer training, expert lectures, career awareness programmes, skill development programmes and job placement session. The top recruiters of the college are mother dairy, NTPC, IOCL barauni refinery, NHPC, CFTRI and BSNL.
