Central Institute of Plastics engineering and Technology (CIPET) was established in the year 1986 by Government of India. College is affiliated to Gautam Budh Technical University, Lucknow. It is approved by AICTE and MHRD. It is recognized by Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education and State Government of Uttar Pradesh. It is an ISO 9001:2008 accredited institution. It is also certified by BIS for the testing and evaluation of plastics materials and products.

Central Institute of Plastics engineering and Technology is situated in Amausi Industrial area at Naderganj post in Lucknow district of UP. It is well-connected by air, road and rail beside its own conveyance
