The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela was established in June 2002 by the Government of Orissa. All Architecture, Pharmacy, Engineering and nearly all of the colleges offering MBA and MCA degree programmes are also part or affiliated colleges of this University. It is affiliated with the State University and approved by AICTE.
Campus
The Biju Patnaik University of Technology is working in its new campus situated in Kalinga Vihar, Rourkela placed about seven kms from the Rourkela railway station, Odisha, India. The Rourkela city is well connected by railway and road with Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Kolkata, and further cities of India. The nearest airport is Bhubaneswar and Ranchi. The campus of the university is spread over 139 acres.
