Ayurved Mahavidyalaya was formed in the year 1954 and is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The institution imparts academic education and career only in the medical field and is approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.
Campus
The institution is located in Sion, Mumbai. The campus consists of separate administrative and student block and provides a perfect ambience to the students for their education and growth.
Facilities
Various necessary facilities are provided by the institution such as separate hostel facilities for boys and girls along with the mess facility. It has air- conditioned lecture theatres which are equipped with LCD, OHP and projectors. The institution has a computer lab which is well-established with the advanced PC’s, high bandwidth internet connectivity, high end servers and multimedia systems. It has an amphitheatre for various cultural events, a conference hall and also provides sports facility to the students.
Programmes
Ayurved Mahavidyalaya offers undergraduate and postgraduate programme in the medical field. The institution offers undergraduate course in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and postgraduate course in MD Ayurveda. The candidates those want to apply for the undergraduate course in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in qualifying examination taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The duration of the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) programme is five and a half years with the compulsory rotational internship training of one year while the duration of the MD Ayurveda is three years.
