ACS Medical College, Chennai

ACS Medical College was established in the year 2008. The institution imparts academic education and career in the medical field. The institution is affiliated to Dr. MGR Educational and Research University and approved by Medical Council of India (MCI).

Campus

The institution campus is located in Chennai – Bangalore Highway, near the Chennai city limit and has frequent bus services. The campus is also well-equipped with all the latest and necessary facilities which are required for a medical college.

Facilities

The institution has a library which consists of books, journals, periodicals and project reports. It provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls along with the mess facility. The institution has a well-facilitated computer centre. It has air-conditioned class rooms equipped with the facility of OHP, LCD and projector. The institution has a laboratory, an auditorium for various cultural events and also provides sports facility (both indoor and outdoor) to the students.

Programmes

ACS Medical College offers undergraduate course in the medical field. The institution offers course in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery (MBBS). The duration of the MBBS programme is four and a half years with the compulsory rotational internship training of one year. The candidates those want to apply for the undergraduate MBBS course must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of twelve years of study. The last two years of study should include Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 year’s educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
