The JEE Main 2025 January session results were announced on February 12, 2025. Along with the results, the list of JEE toppers was revealed, showcasing 14 candidates from different states who achieved a perfect 100 percentile.

A total of 12,58,136 candidates appeared for JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 (Session 1), out of which 4,43,622 were female candidates from different categories, including 1,67,790 girls from the general category.

However, what stands out is that only one girl, Sai Manogna Guthikonda from Andhra Pradesh, made it to this elite list, alongside 13 male candidates. Sai Manogna Guthikonda is from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

She is a student of Bhashyam Junior College and has always been a topper since her school days. In JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) Session 1, she secured 12th rank in the general category. Her achievement not only showcases her remarkable dedication and hard work but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring female engineers across the country.

In an interview with ETV Bharat, she said she achieved this rank by following the plan given by her teachers. When she was asked how she got this success, she replied, “I am studying intermediate in Guntur. I followed what my lecturers told me. The curriculum here is good, and the support from the teachers is excellent. This success was possible because of studying hard every day with passion.”

She also said there was a fixed timetable in the college, and she always stuck to the timetable and studied accordingly. Particular topics were taught during the week, and she studied as per the schedule. “I used to finish the targets given by the lecturers. The lecturers used to advise us on them. I studied according to the plan.”

Further, when she was asked, “How did you feel about the exam paper?” her answer was: “I wrote the exam on January 23rd. I felt my shift paper was easy. We have grand tests in college. I felt that the difficulty level in the Mains was less than expected. This gave me confidence. The time was right. I finished Physics and Chemistry in an hour. I gave 1 hour and 20 minutes to Maths. I checked everything once in the last 40 minutes.”

Sai Manogna Guthikonda’s father, Kishore Chowdary, works as an Associate Professor at RVR&JC Engineering College, while her mother, Guthikonda Padmaja, serves as an administrative officer at a nearby hospital. Her father’s engineering background has significantly fueled her enthusiasm for the field.

Now, she is preparing for the JEE Advanced 2025 examination as she aims to join a top IIT. She wants to pursue Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) as she is interested in the subject. “My target is to work hard and reach a good level. Depending on the rank I get, I will join any good IIT,” she said.
