West Bengal B.Tech Admission 2016 will be done through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE 2016) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2016) led by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

The Candidates who are involved in appearing West Bengal B.Tech Admission 2016 can apply online for JEE Main and WBJEE 2016.The application form of JEE Main and WBJEEB has been over now. The counselling for West Bengal B.Tech Admission 2016 has been started now.

Both WBJEE and JEE Main merit listed candidates might need to hold fast to the cutoff marks in qualifying exam. Qualification criteria for West Bengal B.Tech Admission 2016 are specified below:

• Candidates looking for admission in the four-year B.Tech degree courses must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 level) or its corresponding examination with an aggregate of 45% and 40% for SC/ST/PwD.
• Additionally the candidate must have a legitimate score in JEE Main and WBJEEB 2016.

On the basis of legitimacy position, Diploma Holders in Engineering/Technology in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JEELET) are qualified for admission in the 3rd semester (2nd year) of B.Tech course to the highest limit of 20% of the approved admission in each course.

Selection Process

In West Bengal B.Tech Admission 2016, students will be admitted on the basis of merit position in the Joint Entrance Examination of the West Bengal and All India Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). Both the applicants are eligible for counselling.

• Registered candidates who have paid the counselling fees are obliged to register for the counselling procedure.
• All the Candidates are necessary to submit the single set of choices against WBJEE seats & JEE Mains seats, even if they are qualified for both.
• TFW candidates have a choice to fill the choices with TFW and without TFW seat in any order of preference.
• Candidates can fill in as much number of choices in the order of preference as they wish to from the list of available choices.
• Candidates are allowed, if they want to change or re-arrange their choices so erase their previous choices and add new choices any number of times until they lock their last choices.
• Candidates must lock their choices only when they have finalized them and take a printout of the allotment letter for the admission and verification of documents.

The choices submitted by the candidates will be processed centrally and seats will be temporarily assigned at the request of legitimacy for JEE Main seats on the basis of the locked choices.

Candidates who are allotted a seat will need to personally report to the Reporting Centres to finish the admission formalities.
