State Exam
In Tamil Nadu, the admission in the engineering colleges can be done through following exams.
JEE Main
The admission to the government and many reputed private colleges of the state is conducted through JEE Main exam. The exam has been conducted in April and the application form for the exam has been announced in the month of December. The application form is over now.
TNEA
TNEA 2016 (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission 2016) is conducted by the Anna University for those students who wants to pursue undergraduate courses in engineering discipline from the colleges that are affiliated by Anna University in Tamil Nadu state.
B.Tech Admission 2016
Interested candidates are required to fill the application form of TNEA 2016 or JEE Main 2016 for the admission in engineering discipline of Tamil Nadu state. Must check your eligibility criteria before applying for the test. It is required for the candidates to pass 12th or its equivalent exam with subjects as physics, chemistry and math with minimum 50% for unreserved category candidates and 45% for reserved category candidates. Fill the form carefully followed by the successful payment of the requisite application fee and finally submit it.
Documents Required
The candidates have to bring the following documents for the verification process:
- Class X original Mark sheet and Certificates
- Class XII original Mark sheet and Certificates
- Character Certificate
- Migration Certificate
- Domicile of the candidate
- Caste Certificate for reserved category candidates
Selection Process
After the successful completion and declaration of the TNEA 2016 or JEE Main 2016 result, candidates have to download their rank card from the official portal of the conducting authority. On the basis of this rank card, college/institute will be assigned to the students. The candidates have to pay the prescribed fee for the counseling registration and choice filling. The candidates can fill as many choices as possible but the final selection will be done on the basis of order of preference. The seat allotment result will be sent to the candidates individually via SMS that contains the information regarding the institute allotted to the candidate on the basis of his/her rank and the choices filled by the candidate. It is suggested to the candidates to download the seat allotment letter from the official portal and bring the printout of it along with all the necessary documents required on the day of admission.
