NEST is an entrance exam for candidates seeking admission to the Integrated M.Sc programme at NISER, Bhubaneswar, and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai. NEST 2024 Merit List

The candidates will be able to view their merit list on the day of result. The NEST test will be divided into four portions, each of which will comprise 17 questions.

Section 1 (General Section) must be attempted. Candidates may attempt ‘as many’ subject parts as they choose.

The NEST Merit List 2024 will be compiled using the score of a general section as well as the three best scores from the remaining subject sections. In other words, during the merit list calculation, the part in which candidates receive the lowest scores will be deleted.

NEST 2024 Tie- Breaking Criteria

A tie happens when two or more candidates earn the same scores in the entrance exam. The Tie-breaking procedure is designed to award meritorious applicants a fair ranking. Following are the NEST 2024 Tie Breaking rules:

• If two or more candidates have an equal total score, the candidate with higher score in the general part will be ranked higher. 
• If the tie persits, the best subject session scores of the two candidates will be compared. Candidates with higher scores in any of the subject sections will be ranked higher. 
• If the tie remains, candidates will be assigned the same provisional rank when the NEST Result 2024 will be announced. The tie will be broken by comparing class 12th marks in the order during admission/counselling. 
• If the tie still persists, the younger applicant will get a higher rank.

NEST 2024 Counselling 

NISER AND UM-DAE-CEBE will hold separate counselling sessions for admission to the M.Sc programmes. Only those candidates who have been shortlisted will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.

The NEST 2024 Counselling will be conducted through offline mode on university campuses. Candidates must appear in person on the day of counselling. Candidates must also bring two-attested photocopies of their original documents.

Candidates attending the NEST counselling procedure must provide all required documents for verification. The admissions procedure will not be completed unless all documents are verified. The following are the documents necessary for NEST exam counselling in 2024.
