Admission Procedure

Aspirants will get admission into medical/dental courses in Maharashtra through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test. All the government and private colleges of the state considers the score card of NEET for admitting students into its medical courses. State colleges are permitted to conduct counselling for 85% state quota seats. MCC and DHGS are the authorities that conducts counselling for remaining 15% all India seats.

Entrance Exam

MBBS admission in Maharashtra will be done through NEET-UG (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test). It is the national level entrance examination monitored by the CBSE. This entrance examination will be conducted for admission into MBBS/BDS courses. The examination of NEET (previously AIPMT) will be conducted on 7th May 2017.

MBBS Admission 2017

MBBS/BDS aspirants are required to fill the online application form of NEET. Students can apply from the 31st January to the 1st March 2017. Candidates can check their eligibility for NEET 2017 from here:

  • Indian Citizen as well as OCI are eligible to apply.
  • It is compulsory for the candidates to pass higher secondary examination with Physics, Biology & Chemistry.
  • In the qualifying examination, minimum 50% marks in general category, 45% marks in GEN-PH, 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC category & 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH category is required.
  • Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

Selection Procedure

NEET qualifiers will be called for counselling round. Candidates can fill their choices for the colleges during counselling process. For 85% state quota seats, the colleges conduct its own counselling process. It is compulsory for the candidates to appear counselling round for seat allotment. Candidates can confirm their seats by reporting to the assigned colleges. There are about 44 medical colleges in Maharashtra that offers 5945 MBBS seats.

  4. my daughter has scored 107 marks in MHTCET 2016.But actually she scored 114 marks, for which whe sent a representation to the selection board . But sofar no infn. received.Kdly confirm whether she is eligible for MBBS seat in PRIVATE college and if so what will be fees
