This exam will be held for admissions into various UG courses in law and after graduation in law for Masters of Law programme. CLAT Score Card will be accepted by various private law colleges and government undertaking colleges across the country.

CLAT Exam Pattern 2025

CLAT Exam will be held through online mode on 1st December 2024. The CLAT exam pattern for UG & PG programmes are given below:

CLAT Under Graduate (UG) Exam Pattern:

  • Duration: The duration of the examination will be two hours.
  • Number of Questions: 120 questions will be asked in the examination.
  • Type of Questions: The questions will be of objective type (multiple choice questions).
  • Language: The question paper will be asked in English language only.
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will carry one mark.
  • Negative Marking: There will be negative marking process. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

The questions will come from the following sections and the number of marks for each section is given below:

CLAT Post Graduate( PG) Exam Pattern:

  • Duration: The exam duration will be two hours.
  • Type of Questions: The questions will be of objective and descriptive type.
  • Medium of Exam: The question paper will be asked in English language only.
  • Marking Scheme: For correct answer, one mark will be given to the candidates.
  • Negative Marking: There will be negative marking process. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

CLAT Syllabus 2025

There is no prescribed CLAT 2025 syllabus. For UG courses, the questions will be asked from English including Comprehension, General Knowledge, Mathematics (taught up to 10th class), Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning sections. For PG courses, the questions will be asked from  Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and other law subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, Environment Law and Human Rights topics. Candidates can prepare from model papers & last year question papers.

It can help you to check the difficulty level of question paper & will aware about the type of questions. Candidates are advised not to get panic & also allot sufficient time for sleep. Take healthy diet, and keep last few days only for revision.

    1. Students will ask to submit their college preference and then authority will allot seats on the bases of Rank scored by candidates in CLAT Exam.

Are there CLAT entrance exam preparatory courses for students who would like to join the UG course after their 12th ? if simultaneous preparation for the same is carried out during the 2nd half of the 12th grade itself…. it would benefit the children who do not have any sort of link to the subject beforehand.

    1. Hi akansha! apart from constitution n Jurisprudence d other subjects include law of torts,contract, IPC, CrPc, Intellectual property law, labour law n cyber law.

      1. But it is mentioned in official website of clat that the exam will be objective type comprising of 150 questions of one Marx each..but you are stating different pattern I.e essay type questions.. I am confused. Plz reply
