CBSE Board Exam 2025 Guidelines: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a notice for principals and heads of schools, highlighting the importance of making Class X and XII students aware of examination ethics.
From 15th February 2025 onwards, CBSE will conduct 10th and 12th board examinations for around 44 lakh candidates in 204 subjects.
To conduct such a big examination fairly and successfully the board has released a set of instructions and guidelines to be followed by the school and board candidates.
The notice has details on the list of permitted items, a list of barrier times, CBSE Board class dress code, unfair means, and instructions to be followed by the school.
What Are Schools Responsibilities for CBSE 2025 Exam Ethics?
Schools must thoroughly review the complete UFM guidelines and the penalties that may be imposed. Briefly acknowledge parents and board exam students about examination ethics and possible consequences for violations. Additionally, inform both parents and students not to believe or be a part of any rumors spread online.
In detail instruct students on what they should and should not carry on the day of the CBSE board examination 2025. Lastly, ensure all officials assigned to examination duty are properly briefed.

For the upcoming CBSE classes 10th and 12th board examination 2025, the authority has implemented a CCTV policy in all the examination centers/halls/ rooms where the exam will be held. Assistant Superintendents are going to equip and manage the CCTV monitoring.
Act of Unfair Means: Candidates are going to be a part of unfair practices if they use or attempt to use any electronic devices such as mobile phones, smart watches, or any other communication device after entering the exam center. Students being a part of spreading rumors or false information affects the smooth conduct of examinations.
Implemented Penalties: If any candidates are found to have unfair practices, their current examination and next year’s examination will be canceled in full subjects and shall be eligible to write/have/take the Examination in Full Subjects thereafter.
What is CBSE 2025 Dress Code?
The CBSE board classes’ 10th and 12th dress code for regular students is a proper school uniform and private candidates are required to wear simple light-colored clothes. Candidates should not wear something revealing, sparkly/blinky, or short.
Things to Carry to CBSE Board Exam Centre
On the board examination day, candidates are only allowed to carry a few things inside the exam center and exam hall.
- CBSE board exam admit card 2025. Regular candidates can carry their school ID card whereas private candidates can carry any government identity proof.
- For stationery items, you are allowed to carry pens (black/blue/gel/ballpoint), pencils, geometry boxes, writing pads, erasers, scales, and sharper. All the stationery items are required to be carried in a transparent pouch.
- You may also carry an analog watch, transparent water bottle, metro card, bus pass & money
What is not allowed in CBSE Board Exam Center
Things that are barred in the CBSE board examination center for the session 2025 are given below:
- No candidates can any stationery item such as any paper, or calculator (Students with Learning Disability i.e. Dyscalculia are permitted to use a Calculator as per Circular No. CBSE/COORD/2020 dated 20.01.2020 and are provided the same by Exam center), textual material, log table, notebook, pen drive, electronic pen, etc.
- Devices such as smartphone, earphones, Bluetooth, health bands, smart watches, cameras, etc are not allowed.
- Items such as goggles, handbags, nontransparent pouches, and any packed food, or eatable things are not allowed. Candidates who are diabetic students can keep food as the doctor’s suggested.
- Any other item that could be used for unfair means
