Every year, some candidates are not allowed to take the exam due to a lack of knowledge about exam day guidelines and rules.
With only 3 days left for the CAT (Common Admission Test), which is scheduled for 24th November 2024 (Sunday), it’s very important to be fully acknowledged.
Candidates who will be taking the examination should note that on the exam day, they will be required to carry a few documents and follow some rules instructed by IIM Calcutta. Recently, the authority has released the CAT 2024 admit card, which also includes all the instructions.”
Mistakes to Avoid on CAT 2024 Exam Day
Below are some of the common mistakes that candidates have to avoid at the examination day:
- Reach Exam Center Before Time: The examination will held in 3 shifts/ sessions 8.30 am – 10.30 am (Session 1), 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm (Session 2), and 4.30 pm – 6.30 pm (Session 3). Candidates are advised to reach the examination center half or 1 hour before to avoid any rush. It’s not advisable to reach the exact exam start time.
- Visit Exam Center: Candidates are advised to visit the examination center once before the exam day. At times, candidates face issues finding the center or if face any issues with the exam hall on exam day will have to find other ways to reach on exam hall.
- Carry Required Documents: At the exam center candidates will be required to carry one hard copy of their CAT admit card, one government-approved ID proof, and pass passport-size photograph ( only if the image is not clear on other documents).
- Follow Dress Code: The exam authority has not announced any specific dress code but candidates are not allowed to wear tight clothes, shoes or close footwear, smart watches, jewelry, stylish glasses, multiple clothes, jackets, clothes with pockets, socks, or belts.
- Prohibited Items: In the exam hall, no electronic items such as phones, earphones, calculators, or watches along with food items like fruits, toffee, chew gum, etc. are allowed.
Only candidates who will be carrying the required documents and will follow the exam guidelines will be allowed to sit for the CAT examination. Candidates are advised not to break any of the rules, stay calm and confident while taking the exam. All the best.
