- GATE 2026 Registration will be started from last week of August 2025.
- Aspirants will be able to submit the application form via online mode, as there will be no offline method available.
- Candidates are suggested to fulfil complete eligibility criteria once before filling the form to avoid rejection.
- During form filling process, there will be the requirement of some important documents for verification. We will provide the list of documents below.
- GATE application procedure has various steps such as Online registration, filling of information, uploading the requisite documents & submission of prescribed amount of fee.
- There will be two combination allowed to the candidates as per which aspirants will have the option to appear for 1 or 2 test papers.
- Candidates must be careful while filling the information in form, as the authority may or may not provide any correction facility.
- In case candidates wants to check the application status, they can logging to the website using given User ID and Password.
- Candidates will have to submit their application form before the last date, the last date to apply will be till first week of October 2025.
- Complete the process by uploading the requisite documents in prescribed format.

Registration Fee:
- There will be online facility available to submit GATE 2026 application fee. It vary for regular and extended period.
- Online facility such as Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, Wallet etc. will be provided to submit the fee.

Candidates will have to upload the given documents in the prescribed format to complete the registration:

GATE 2026 Application Correction
GATE 2026 application correction facility will be provided to the applying candidates only. Edit window will be accessible via online mode only. The correction link will be activated on the website of authority. Few details in the form will be rectified by the candidates.
Aspirants will be charges a fee for marking correction in the details provided in the GATE 2026 application form. It will be allowed only in a few details as mentioned in the table below:

GATE 2026 Eligibility Criteria
It will be mandatory to fulfil the complete eligibility criteria of GATE 2026 below before applying for it:
- Aspirants of 3rd or higher years of any UG degree (currently) or completed any degree (Govt. approved) in the field of Engineering/ Technology, Architecture, Humanities & Science will be eligible to apply.
- There will be no age limit prescribed to apply.
- One who is pursuing or completed their qualifying degree from outside India should be currently in 3rd or higher years of any UG degree OR completed bachelor’s degree (at least 3 year duration) in the field of Engineering/ Technology, Architecture, Humanities & Sciences.
- Students possessing certification from any professional societies must ensure that those examination will be approved by AICTE/ MoE/ UPSC/ UGC as being equivalent to B.Tech/ B.E/ B.Arch/ B.Planning, etc.

How to Apply for GATE 2026
To apply for GATE 2026 exam, get steps by step procedure from below:
- Initially, visit the website of GATE 2026 (Link be mentioned above).
- Candidates will be able to register via GATE online application processing system (GOAPS) using apply link.
- Press the “GATE 2026 Registration” link available on the homepage.
- Details such as name, valid email ID, mobile number etc. will be required for registration.
- Register yourself to generate the login credentials (Enrolment ID & Password).
- Now start with the login process and complete the application form.
- Fill out the application form with information such as personal details, academic, communication, exam center, images, etc.
- After filling the details, upload the requisite documents such as photograph, signature, photo ID proof, category certificate, etc.
- Documents must be uploaded in JPEG/ JPG & should be minimum 5 KB and maximum 1 MB.
- After uploading the documents, pay the prescribed amount of application fee using available facility.
- Review the details once before submitting the application form on the website.

GATE 2026 Application Status/ Scrutiny
As per the authorities of GATE, an “Application Under Scrutiny” is review process undertaken for the validation of the information submitted by a candidates in application form. GATE 2026 Application Status will be checked anytime by the applying candidates.
Aspirants will have to visit the website and login their account using login credentials. After login using details online, the GATE 2026 application scrutiny will be displayed on the screen. The application status will only be updated after the scrutiny by the respective zonal offices.
