TNEA 2026 Application Form

- The application form of TNEA 2026 will be made available in first week of May 2026.
- Students satisfying the eligibility criteria before registration will only be eligible to apply.

TNEA 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Nativity:
- Those who completed 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th standards from Tamil Nadu schools will be eligible without a Nativity Certificate.
- Tamil Nadu natives who completed the mentioned standards outside Tamil Nadu will also be eligible to apply with an original or digitally signed e-Nativity Certificate.
- Children of Central Government Employees will be eligible regardless of nativity if their parents/guardians will be serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years. This must be supported by a certificate from the parent’s or guardian’s employer.
- Children of Public Sector/Government Recognized Institution Employees will be eligible if the employee worked in Tamil Nadu for the past five years. They must produce a certificate from the employer with proof like Income Tax returns and PF slips.
- Son & daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu Cadre Officers will be eligible by producing a self-declaration from the parent.
- Other State aspirants who have completed their VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard in Tamil Nadu will be eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must have passed 11th and 12th grade or equivalent from any recognized board.
- In the qualifying exam, candidates must have passed with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

For Marine Engineering:
- Age: The upper age limit to apply for Marine Engineering will be 25 years.
- Qualification: One must have completed their 12th or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
- Subject: Applicants must have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects in the qualifying exam.
- Marks: Students must score minimum 60% in PCM and 50% in English subject.

TNEA 2026 Rank List
After the closure of registration window, the DTE, Chennai will publish an overall and Community wise rank lists. In this rank list, the authority will mention the name of shortlisted candidates based on their 12th grade scores.
TNEA Rank List 2026 will be accessed by the applicants via online mode from the website. It will be released in second week of July 2026 in form of a PDF. Based on the rank list, students will be invited for further counselling and admission rounds.
TNEA 2026 Cut Off

TNEA 2026 Counselling/ Admission
TNEA Counselling 2026 will be organized in multiple rounds. College and branch will be provisionally allotted to applicants based on their overall and community rank, as per the choices made during online counseling. Students will be invited for counselling in fourth week of July 2026.
Applicants will be grouped based on their rank and each group will be called to participate in counselling based on their turn. Each round of counselling will consist of various steps including choice filling, allotment and reporting to the concerned institute along with counselling registration fee.
Students will have to confirm their admission by filling the confirmation options. Applicants who will select the option to accept and join will have to download their allotment letter and report to the allotted college for completion of further procedures.
