National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli

National Institute of Technology, Trichy is common known as the NIT Trichy. It has been started in the year 1964 as the joint venture of government of Tamil Nadu and the government of India. It is recognized as the deemed to be university in year 2003 by UGC. The engineering, management, architecture and Ph.D courses of the institution are approved by the AICTE.

Campus

The campus is sited over in 800 acres of land on National Highway 67 (Trichy – Thanjavur national highway). The campus is located on the bank of the river Cauvery. The campus is 22 km away from the City railway station and bus stand.

Facilities

The campus has a big library with over 1 lakh of volumes, girls hostel, boys hostel, messes, laboratories, research centre, canteens, SBI bank, ATM facility, hospital facility and quarters for faculty members.

Activities

The campus celebrates the institute day as the annual day in every September of the year maned “Festember”. The college celebrates the cultural festival called “Nittfest”. The college organizes the technical festival, convocation programme and sports competition.

Placement
