Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) has been established in the year 1979 as a private and self-financing institution set up by the Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society. The college is affiliated to the Osmania University, Hyderabad and approved by the AICTE and accredited by the NAAC and NBA. The institution is ISO 9001:2000 certified.
Campus:
The CBIT campus is sited on the side of Osman Sagar Lake in Gandipet Town in Hyderabad district of Andhra Pradesh. The campus is 20 km away from the Nampally Railway Station and 35 km from the Internal Airport, Shamshabad. The campus is spread over in 30 acres of land.
Programmes:

At present, the CBIT is offering the 1178 seats for admission as the annual intake in all programmes. The campus has 246 faculty members and 125 non-teaching staff.

Activities:
The campus has a student activities centre that regulates the student club activities like cultural, sports, literary and technical activities. The campus organizes the industrial visits and educational tours.
Placement:
The placement cell of CBIT has been established in the year 1996 as a separate and full-fledged department having GD room, training room and 9 interview rooms.
