JEE Main 2017 Seat Allotment Result for Special Vacant Seats Round has been released now. JEE Main 2017 Seat Allotment Result for 7th round has been released on 21st July 2017. JoSAA supervises and manages admission and seat allocation process in 92 institutions (including 22 IITs, 31 NITs, ISM Dhanbad, 20 IIITs & 18 GFTIs ) regulated by the government of India. Joint Seat Allocation Authority popularly known as JoSAA has been established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It conducts common counselling for granting admission into aforesaid institutions. JoSAA also administers the counselling of JEE Advanced. Candidates who will score marks above than cut-off marks will be eligible for JEE Mains counselling 2017. It is mandatory for candidates to fulfill the set cut off benchmark in order to be eligible for admission. The counselling process of JEE Main will include numerous steps and processes. Apart from qualifying JEE Main, students also have to fulfill all other eligibility conditions set by the authority to take admission. CSAB is organizing the special counselling round for vacant seats. The special round counselling has been started from 27th July 2017.

JoSAA Counselling 2017
After declaration of JEE Main result, CBSE will handle the data to seat allocation board or concerned state government/institute for processing the further seat allocation and admission process. JoSAA has the responsibility for seat allocation of institutions under JAB and CSAB based on candidates rank in JEE Advanced and JEE Main respectively. JoSAA is organizing the common counselling for all the institutions fall under CSAB and JAB. IITs and ISM shall be the institution under JAB and admits students based on their performance in JEE Advanced. NITs, IIITs and GFTIs shall be the institution under CSAB and admits candidates based on their performance in JEE Main.
JoSAA counselling 2017 has been started after the announcement of JEE Advanced 2017 result & JEE Main 2017 All India Rank. The counselling process is organizing in 7 rounds. JEE Main 2017 counselling has been started from 15th June 2017. The counselling process is conducted via online mode.
JEE Main 2017 Counselling For State Colleges/Institutions
The state government will conduct its own counselling process for granting admission into their state colleges. State colleges opt to admit students in its engineering colleges based on rank list prepared as per JEE Main 2017 result. After qualifying JEE Main examination, candidates can approach their concerned state counselling/admission authority to know details about counselling dates, procedure, seat allotment process, etc. Students have to register and participate in counselling process as per the scheduled dates. The States of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Nagaland, Odisha & some other institutions have joined JEE (Main) system completely. From the year 2017 onwards, these states are included in JEE Main and will not conduct any state level entrance examination for undergraduate engineering courses.

JEE Main 2017 Counselling Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate must passed the JEE Main 2017 by securing marks above the set cut-off benchmarks. Top 2,20,000 qualifiers of JEE Main will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2017. To get seats in IITs, candidate also has to qualify JEE Advanced.
- In order to qualify for admission into IITs/NITs/CFTIs , candidates have to secure minimum 75% marks in 12th exam or be in top 20 percentile in 12th class exam conducted by respective board. Minimum marks for SC/ST candidates in 12th examination is 65%.
- Candidate who accepted the IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past or whose admission in IITs was cancelled are not eligible for admission.
- Candidates who have paid seat acceptance fee but not accepted the seat (by not reporting at any reporting centre during joint seat allocation in 2016)are eligible for admission.
JEE Main 2017 Counselling Process
Following steps are involved in JEE Main 2017 counselling and seat allotment process:
- Counselling Registration

- Reporting at Allotted Reporting Centre
- Reporting to Allotted Institution
Step-1: Counselling Registration
All the eligible candidates have to register online to appear in the JoSAA counselling. Candidates are required to enter JEE Main 2017 roll number and password to login. Enter all the details required at the time of registration.
Step-2: Choice Filling & Locking
Candidates can make as many as choices for branches/programmes and institutions. Choices must be locked before the last date. The process of choice locking can be made after each round of counselling.
Step-3: Seat Allotment
After few days of choice locking, seat allotment result will be declared. Students will be intimated via email and SMS that will be sent in the registered email ID and mobile number of a candidate. Candidates shall be offered admission based on their choices and All India Ranks of JEE Main through seat allocation process.
Step-4: Fee Payment & Seat Acceptance
After seat allotment, students have to pay seat acceptance fee. Fee payment can be done through SBI net banking or e-challan. Moreover, candidates also have to verify their documents at the reporting centres. Thereafter, provisional seat allotment letter will be provided to candidates.
Step-5: Reporting at Allotted Reporting Centre
Students who will get seat must report to the allotted reporting centre for document verification. Students are required to visit the allotted centre with all the necessary documents and certificates. List of documents that candidates have to bring at allotted centre are given below.
Step-6: Reporting to Allotted Institution
This is the last step of admission process. Candidates can confirm their seats by visiting the allotted institution. Admission will be confirmed after submission of admission fee.

The list of documents that candidates have to be verified at reporting centre are as follows:

- Pay slip of Seat Acceptance Fee
- JEE Main 2017 Admit Card
- 10th Class Passing Certificate
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Foreign candidates have to bring attested photocopy and original nationality certificate/ passport.
