Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad (Kheda)

Dharmsinh Desai University (DDU) was established in the year 1968 as Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology set up by the Dharmsinh Desai Foundation. The DDIT was awarded as the status of a Deemed University in the year 2000 by the government of India. The government of Gujarat has upgraded this as a State university in 2005. The DDU is recognized by the University Grant Commission. The DDU campus is accredited by the ISO 9001:2008 and NBA certification (B.E courses). The faculty of engineering and technology has declared as the Centre for Excellence by the government of India.

Campus:

The DDU campus is sited on the College Road at Town Nadiad in District Kheda, Gujarat. The DDU campus is 21 km away from the Kheda City and 60 km from the Ahmadabad City. The DDU campus is spread over 42 acres of land. The campus is well-connected to the nearby cities by road and rail.

Students & Faculty:

The DDU campus offers more than 1800 seats for admission as the annual intake in all programmes. The DDU has more than 132 faculty members from all departments.

Facilities:

The DDU campus consists of six faculties. The campus provides infrastructural campus facilities and academic facilities. The campus provides the facility for research and development including scholarship for the meritorious students. The campus provides the computer centre, labs, workshops, science laboratories, auditorium, library, canteen and separate hostel for boys & girls.

Activities:

The DDU campus organizes convocation programme, sports event and co-curricular activities. The campus conducts the NCC, National Creativity Aptitude Test and scholarship programme named Vaanche Gujarat Abhiyaan.

Programmes:

The DDU campus is conducting various academic courses including UG, PG and Doctoral degree programmes in various fields of professional education such in medical, pharmacy, management and engineering. It offers BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) and MBA (Master in Business Administration) programmes.The core engineering branches offered by the college are as the following:

Placement:

The DDU has a placement cell as the integrated part of the campus which is providing the entrepreneurship awareness, placement of the students, personality development programmes and inviting the lecturers from the industry and other institutions.
