National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal
National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) is the first Institution of the country who has been provided the education and research in Dairy Technology since its inception. The institution was actually started in the year 1923 in Bangalore by the Government of India. In the year 1955, the institution was shifted to the Karnal, Haryana. The NDRI is approved by the ICAR and UGC. The NDRI granted ‘Deemed to be University’ by the UGC in the year 1989. The NDRI is recognized as the Centre of Excellence in Animal Biotechnology.
Campus:
The NDRI is sited on the Old GT Road in the heart of the Karnal City. The campus is just 10 minutes away from the National Highway-1 (Delhi – Ambala Highway) and 2 km from the Karnal Railway Station. The NDRI University campus sprawls over 32 acres of land.
Programmes:
The NDRI conducts the B.Tech degree programme in Dairy Technology, master’s programme & doctoral programmes in 13 disciplines of Dairying Education. Read More >>
Students & Faculty:
The NDRI University is offering the admission over 250 seats as the annual intake capacity in all programmes. The NDRI has around 133 faculty members from all departments.
Facilities:
The NDRI provides the good academic and research facility to the students as well as the faculty such as labs, special equipment, guest house, scientist rooms, communication centre, experimental Dairy, community centre, staff club and human health complex.
Activities:
The institution has an Agricultural Technology Information Centre which deals in the supply and sale of the seeds, video shows, group discussion and exhibition. The institution is going to set up a Krishi Vigyan Kendra in 2014. The NDRI organizes the Dairy Mela annually.
Placement:
