Government Girls Polytechnic, Allahabad

The Government Girls Polytechnic, Allahabad was established in the year 1992. It started with the Post-graduation Diploma in Computer Application of two years, but now it has added three more branches. The two year diploma in pharmacy course is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi. The college is affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Government.

Campus

The college is situated on Allahabad Lucknow National Highway opposite to MNNIT Allahabad, 0.5 km away from National Highway towards Rassolabad Ghat. It is reachable from Prayag station 4 km and from Allahabad Junction is 10 km. The campus of the college is spread over 20.8 acre land. It has two building i.e. one for residential and another is non-residential. The faculty members of the college are well-experienced and qualified in their fields.

Facilities

The facilities provided by the college are well established and maintained. It has individual laboratories according to departments, a software lab, a hardware lab, labs for textile design, museum cum display lab, studio and display lab workshop, etc. It has also a library with text books, hand books/ Govt. publication, reference book and many other related books.

Programmes

The Government Girls Polytechnic College offered the courses in Diploma. It offers the Post-graduation diploma in Computer Application, Diploma in textile Design, Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration and Diploma in Pharmacy. Qualification for Diploma in pharmacy is that candidate must pass the intermediate in Mathematics & Biology.

Placement

From last two year i.e. session 2010-11 and 2011-12, the students are selected through the campus interview. Many students of the Pharmacy branch are working right now in most of the reputed companies. The companies visited the college are Apollo pharmacy, HCL Info system, Softrpro India Ltd., etc.
